I've been running SETI@HOME for a few weeks and noticed that my BOINC manager does not run the oldest task first, instead it seems to prefer the newest ones. Is this behaviour normal?

Unless it switches into earliest deadline first mode it likes to run them in the order they were received. They are not received in date/time stamp order.

Okay,

I was looking at the deadline date of the tasks. The manager seems to run the tasks with the latest dates first.
