Just tried boinc with 10.14 and when using hot corners to start screensaver, screen just goes blank. When you hit the escape key to get off screen saver, the running screen saver shows briefly,before going to desktop.

This morning, the lead Mac developer for BOINC circulated this memo to everyone involved in developing BOINC code and BOINC project applications for Mac:

Apple has just released OS 10.14 (Mojave) and Xcode 10. Both of these will require significant changes to the BOINC source code and also to BOINC project applications. Until we have made these changes, developers should use only Xcode 9.4.1 or earlier.

There are other new restrictions in Xcode 10 which will require changes in BOINC source code.

I will continue to use Xcode 9.4.1 to build BOINC 7.14 temporarily, while I make the changes to the BOINC source code and Xcode project needed to build under Xcode 10. But projects should ensure that they have 64-bit versions of all their Mac project and graphics executables.

I'll pass on your specific observation so it can be looked at alongside the other changes needed, but please be aware it may take some time to solve.

To anticipate the developer's next questions,

Which version of BOINC were you running?
Which project's screensaver did you expect to see?

Boinc 7.12.0 Latest version

And same results on ANY project that has a screensaver attached, even Default Boinc overview acts the same.

Well used to that, I am in no hurry, just thought I would let someone know.

To diagnose this, we need to know all the following:
[1] Which version of BOINC?
[2] Are you running on a MacBook Pro with dual GPUs?
[3] Does it run successfully if the screensaver starts due to the computer being idle for the length of time specified in the Screensaver System Preferences?
[4] Were you running the screensaver successfully on OS 10.13 High Sierra before switching to Mojave?

There is a known issue with the BOINC screensaver running on full GPU MacBook Pros under OS 10.13 or later, which will be fixed in BOINC 7.14.

NO, iMac with Intel GPU

[3] Does it run successfully if the screensaver starts due to the computer being idle for the length of time specified in the Screensaver System Preferences?
NO, Just goes to the same blank screen (Blank, not Off,asleep). And the same after running for anytime, hit the escape key (got used to doing that after the "gets stuck on issue") and briefly you see whatever screen saver it was running at that moment.

[4] Were you running the screensaver successfully on OS 10.13 High Sierra before switching to Mojave?
YES, worked perfectly

I can reproduce this and hope to have a fix for the next release of BOINC. Thank you for bringing this to our attention.
