How do I remove LHC@home from my BOINC manager? I have trayed to uninstall BOINC and manually removed everything in the BOINC map before installing BOINC again and it worked for a long time but now the LHC@home have started to reaper in my BOINC manager and the "Remove" button in the manager is grayed out so I cant use that one. My OS is Windows10 Pro and I'm using boinc manger 7.10.2. |

Did you originally attach to LHC by using an account manager like BAM! ? If so, you'll have to remove it the same way. That's the only reason I know for the 'remove' button being grayed out. You can also set 'No New Tasks' for LHC while you sort it out. |

I think that I attached the computer via the boinc manager\Tools\Add roject… but I am not absolutely sure. On my other computers I seams to have deleted lhc successfully by uninstalling BOINC and then delete all files in the boinc map and deleted all entries in Windows including BOINC by using regedit.exe, I think I will try the same method if this does not help. |

The only files you absolutely need to delete/edit are in the data folder: account_lhcathomeclassic.cern.ch_sixtrack.xml (your LHC file file may be slightly different, depending on when and how you attached. But it will start 'account_' and be recognisable as an LHC file). Delete the file. client_state.xml: remove the entire section starting <project>(again, the name may vary slightly) down to the start of the next project. If you're not running ant tasks at the moment, the final line will probably be </app_version>. Delete the entire 'lhcathomeclassic.cern.ch_sixtrack' subfolder in the projects folder. And that's it. No project data is stored in the registry, and uninstalling the program leaves the data untouched (by design) - no point in wasting your time working along those lines. You might want to wait until someone with knowledge of account manager files comes along, in case there's another file that might need attention. |

The only files you absolutely need to delete/edit are in the data folder: Already tried that but it does not help. Initially it seams to work but after 1 hour or so lhc pops up in the manager. I have dethatched from lhc in BAM now, I hope that will do it. EDIT: I have also deleted the lhc part from the client_state.xml file |

Darn! LHC keep coming back. I will try now with uninstalling BOINC, delete every map and file and all information regarding boinc using regedit.exe before reinstalling BOINC. If that does not work I will contact LHC@home and ask them to delete my account. |

As I said before, uninstalling the BOINC program and cleaning the BOINC registry will make no difference (except that you won't be able to run ANY BOINC project). Everything to do with accounts and projects is stored in the boinc data folder. |
