I am currently running SpinHenge on a dual core machine with 5.4.11 under XP. Most work units will finish in pretty much the same time. If 2 work units start simultaneously (which happens after every reboot because SpinHenge has no checkpoints) they will finish within at most 1-2 seconds of each other. What happens then is that I get 2 consecutive messages like "10/23/2006 10:07:11||Rescheduling CPU: application exited". After that only 1 new work unit is started. I fix that manually by a suspend/resume, which starts a second WU. After that the 2 work units' timing is out of sync and all runs normal.

The new 5.6.x or later versions may fix this. The CPU scheduler has had a major renovation.
