PADOLF@home is a bootable image containing the BOINC client and GUI, current GPU drivers, and Debian. Copy it to a 4GB+ flash drive, and run BOINC on any Intel computer (32 or 64 bit). |

... on any Intel computer (32 or 64 bit).Clarifying, this doesn't mean it can't run on AMD CPUs. Standard x86 and x86-64 processors are supported, as are AMD/ATI and nVidia GPUs. |

The download link doesn't work on the PADOLF@home website.Specifically, they both give a 404 [file] not found error. |

A pity. It would have been a nice work around for my current situation. |

Car it run on a raspberry pi3? It uses Linux based Broadcom processor and since it's low power requirements it's on 24/7 |

Car it run on a raspberry pi3? It uses Linux based Broadcom processor and since it's low power requirements it's on 24/7 I don't think so, but you can try the Ubuntu MATE for Raspberry Pi 3: https://ubuntu-mate.org/raspberry-pi/ Or you can try out the Ubuntu Core. But I'm not sure its package manager has BOINC or not. https://www.ubuntu.com/download/core/raspberry-pi-2-3 |

Well this sucks, its the second from the last Boinc homepage info/news/forum post notification and all we get " error 404 " I was looking forward to giving a Berkeley release vs running the Gentoo Based BILD ( Boinc Italy Linux Distro ) http://www.boincitaly.org/supporto/boinc-distro.html and going Debian based so its an easy way for people whom are also in my team " Gridcoin " to throw up thumb drive crunchers with hopes that this distro too like BILD has a " load into memory " feature along with persistent on-disk filesystem , this way if a power outage or kernel panic etc happens then any work units you have downloaded from what ever project you are attached to still exist on the thumb drive and its just a reboot and back to buisness. Along with both being able to install our needed daemon making it easier for new members joining my team. I guess we will find out if/when they fix the file perms of the folder the .iso's are apparently in or direct nginx to the correct directory? This has been apparently broken for 2 weeks since the post was made. posted on the 2nd and broken by the 2nd or 3rd? Can we get an administrator to fix this, people look at the news from the Boinc home page and I think its a bit of a turn off when the news does not work and gives you an error 404 from day 1. On another note, Thank you David Anderson we appreciate the effort and your work. |

New news post on the 2nd " USB-bootable BOINC/Linux image available " directly on the boinc home page , already on the 3rd " its broke " and all of us have reported that there are either file permission or ownership issues per " 404 Not Found " and nginx is working. I understand this is not directly a project from Berkeley and is a 3rd party site but pretty much a failboat. There is a BoincOS @ https://delta1512.github.io/BOINCOS/if you rather not run Gentoo and make all the English changes to BILD. I mean heck its been 10 days since I commented about it not working , upon the 2 weeks of others sooo next.. |

Have you tried contacting those responsible for 'PLF Computing' directly to report the broken links? No, me neither: the organisation has published no contact names, has no message board, and precious little of anything else, either. And their domain is registered behind every known anonymising tool. I think (and I've thought since about day 2) that we've been had: the BOINC 'announcement' was purely fake news to draw attention to their 3-D printing software. Which I hope is of no interest to anyone here. |

I figured it out by accident , so there is a URL issue and you just need to drop the slic3r_directory from the url you can download both from below. Sooo its direct links @ http://plfcomputing.com/padolfathome_x64.zip and http://plfcomputing.com/padolfathome_x86.zip Just downloaded both versions , thanks again David Anderson for all the work you do... I know this project has no relation to boinc nor the work you guys do just something you were informing the boinc userbase on , unfortunately if PADOLF@home does not care about the free promotion from Berkeley and noticed let alone fixed the issue there should be no need for a user ( yes replying to next msg ) to have had to contact PADOLF@home to tell them how to run a web server and how directives and directories along with file permissions work. |

woops , I edited those dns records to be click able links and forgot to click save and thanks to the short " edit " time limit on this forum it takes another post to correct... So here are the click able direct downloads for both versions. Sooo its direct links @ http://plfcomputing.com/padolfathome_x64.zip and http://plfcomputing.com/padolfathome_x86.zip I guess since there is no " contact information " or " contact us " with any email addresses let alone an open text box you could submit suggestions and other notifications. The whois is in Russia's version of privacy but webmin/admin/webmaster/administrator@plfcomputing.com may work and I guess cannot hurt to try , so I find James W. Meng and http://jamesmeng.info that also allows private registration information but one is bound to work. |

I am having problems to create the PADOLF@home bootable USB using Rufus 2.18.1213 under Windows 10 (also tried under Windows 7, same error message), using the image at http://plfcomputing.com/padolfathome_x64.zip. In Rufus, I do select the USB device, I do select the "DD image" option, then select the image file (image5_x64.dd), an click on Start button, but I get an error messagebox: "No image Selected. Please click on the disc button to select a bootable image, or uncheck the Create a bootable disk using " checkbox." Any idea where the problem is? Was anyone able to get this done under Windows? |

I will for the heck of it to see , what error? There are options in rufus that you may need to change such as how it writes it to the media. |

what error? There are options in rufus that you may need to change such as how it writes it to the media. I get the following error MessageBox: "No image Selected." "Please click on the disc button to select a bootable image, or uncheck the "Create a bootable disk using " checkbox." It is like if the program does not recognize I already selected an image file, when I actually did it. I am not sure if I am doing something wrong. |

Car it run on a raspberry pi3? It uses Linux based Broadcom processor and since it's low power requirements it's on 24/7 Yes it does. I have it running on four Raspberry Pi 3 B+s right now. You can get it by using: sudo apt-get install boinc This will give you the whole package (including the screensaver that does not appear to work). It is also available in the default add/remove software tool and from Synaptic if you install it. I don't remember which version it is and the Raspberry's aren't handy at the moment. |

Hi, let me sum up: 1.) you advertise a portable BOINC image called "PADOLF@home" where the author clearly states that "ADOLF" comes from "ADOLF HITLER" (and maybe "P" for his "Puppy") 2.) this homepage features an "atomic explosion" on the front page 3.) there is no info on the author, no imprint, no contact address whatever 4.) this site is hosted on a server in Russia 5.) ... and the download links don't even work Have I missed something? Best wishes walli |

I came looking for a portable version. I agree with walli (although he didn't say it outright) this seems a rather vile joke. -spelger |
