This may have come up before it may not have, but I've gone into compiling the BOINC client and manager my self to try and fix this problem and haven't been very successful.

The BOINC client on Linux appears to cut benchmark scores in half when compared to Windows. Now, I've tried an optimised client from TruXoft which didn't really do much. Here are the benchmarks I got on my AMD FX-55 on the standard client:

Approx 1200 Whetstone
Approx 2200 Dhrystone

With my compiled client, which contained the flags "-O3 -mmmx -msse -msse2 -m3dnow" I got the benchmarks to these:

1546 floating point MIPS (Whetstone) per CPU
3259 integer MIPS (Dhrystone) per CPU

TruXoft's client was about 1350 Whetstone and 2700 Dhrystone.

In Windows however, my FX-55 gets around the following on a STANDARD client:

2400 Whetstone
4500 Dhrystone

Because of this, I get less credit (almost half) due to these benchmarks. I currently take part in WCG since it's important to me, and I appear to be crunching with other Linux machines that claim the low amount of credit as I do. I don't think this is very fair, I don't really have any more ideas to optimise the client to get it back up to Windows score levels.

Any suggestions?
