Hello! I am trying to setup BOINC server on Amazon cloud. Here is the description on how to install BOINC server on Amazon cloud: https://boinc.berkeley.edu/trac/wiki/CloudServer First of all among “Community AMIs” there is no “BOINCServerTemplate”. What is available there are these two options: Linux BOINC - ami-0c24bd3c BOINC Linux Root device type: ebs Virtualization type: paravirtual Select 64-bit WindowsBOINC - ami-dc25bcec Root device type: ebs Virtualization type: hvm I have selected Linux BOINC - ami-0c24bd3c. However, "t2.micro: Free tier eligible" is not available under this option. Only t1.micro is available, which I have selected. Adter I Instance State changed from "Pending" to "running" I have pasted Public IP 52.42.70.143 into a web browser. However, it didn t say"Apache 2 Ubuntu Default Page". The page was not working. It s not possible to open page with IP 52.42.70.143. So, what I am doing wrong there? |

It seems the BOINC server AMI vanished some time ago or was so outdated that it got deleted. The original author of the wikipage (Derick Kondo) is not working on BOINC anymore. You can create you own BOINC server on AWS by installing a stock Linux and then follow the installation instructions: https://boinc.berkeley.edu/trac/wiki/ServerIntro If you just want to do a small local test you are better of with the preinstalled VirtualBox VM that you can run locally: https://boinc.berkeley.edu/trac/wiki/VmServer The BOINC AMIs that are available are pre-installed Clients I think, that can only be attached to other projects. |
