I have set BOINC to suspend all tasks while I am using the computer, but BOINC does not comply. Using BOINC's computing preferences.

Is there some secret switch I have to set somewhere?
7.6.22(x64) W10 using service. I did "repair" under 10 - no chanbe.

Boinc Manager->(Advanced view-)Activity menu->make sure your run options are set "based on preferences". Setting it to "run always" will do exactly that and ignore preferences.

Don't know, but the secret switch is default set to run based on preference, as well as to not run while in use, and run 50 or 60% of CPU time (unless those 'out-of-the box' has changed). This to ensure the newly initiated does not get put off too quick with BOINC, particularly on laptops that heat quickly.
