After a little getting used to, I am not disliking it as I did upon first glance. Well, it would appear that I now have a larger default font size. I just opened the forum in a new window, and the control + held. Not sure if it would stay that way through a reboot. And perhaps would vary with the browser used, dunno. I am using Seamonkey. |

The page responds correctly and stays formatted properly when hitting it with a 'control +' to increase the font size. Much easier control in Firefox. Right-click anywhere on an open space of the outline of the toolbar that holds the address bar, search-engine box etc. and choose Customize. The Customize page opens, giving you choices of which buttons to move to the toolbar, or which to remove from the toolbar. One of the choices to move to the toolbar is the "- 100% +" button. I moved that to between the homepage button and the email button. Next close the customize tab. Done. Now you always have page control under mouse range and Firefox will store the value you have here per tab/page. |

Hi Byron, It looks like the "If RAC < 1 one cannot edit their profile" solution is in play here. I've reported it to David, thanks. |

I asked David if a restriction of user name length was on the books, he "wants to wait until it becomes a problem bigger than those three 'users' that write an essay as their name at Seti". So, if you know of others, also elsewhere, please PM me with a link to their account(s). |

The bold quotes ... they're a bit like having the same thing bellowed at you whilst you're trying to read someone's response to it. Apart from that, it looks fine to me :) edit: I appear to have a bigger space between my message number and my actual message than other posts seem to. Don't mind - just thought it was interesting. I expect no one else will though - which is also fine :) edit2: it's filled up now I have an edit. So maybe it shrinks after the edit window has expired. |

After a little getting used to, I am not disliking it as I did upon first glance. The making quoted text larger seems like an odd change to me. If anything I would think making it smaller makes more sense. I set the first quoted text to 10, the next to 11, and the last I at 12 to see how it looks. The default for quoted looks to be 18 or Large. Small=9 Normal=12 Large=18 Also for nested quotes it looks like each does have to be set separately. Typical behavior was that you could resize a whole set of quoted text by p[lacing size outside all of the quotes and they would all get resized together. For 3 nested quotes you could previously use: [ size=10][ quote][ quote][ quote][ /quote][ /quote][ /quote][ /size] VS [ quote][ size=10][ quote][ size=10][ quote][ size=10][ /size][ /quote][ /size][ /quote][ /size][ /quote] The default message font size for messages looks the same as previous to me. I am seeing some some formatting issues with the top message formatting buttons. Code looks a bit cut-off for me. When mousing over Preview or Post reply I don't see anything change. They always look like this: EDIT: When editing the Preview and OK buttons look to be working normally. In that they get a darker background color on mouse over like the top message formatting buttons, edit, reply, and quote buttons. Browser = FF 49.0.2 View Settings: Page Style = Basic Page Style, Text Encoding = Unicode |

Heh... when I do this: [size=10][quote][quote][quote][quote]Text 1[/quote] Text 2[/quote] Text 3[/quote][/size] and do a preview... the text in and around the preview window changes size to this size 10 and all the text in the post I answer to changes to this size 10. The text in the quotes however stays at size 17.5. - reported exactly like that to David. :) (edit: We're missing an end-quote tag. But missing an end tag shouldn't execute BBCode outside the text window!) |

Thanks goodness we have the scrollbars for over-size code blocks now, but why are they visible in that post, when the code isn't big enough to need them? |

I asked David if a restriction of user name length was on the books, he "wants to wait until it becomes a problem bigger than those three 'users' that write an essay as their name at Seti". So, if you know of others, also elsewhere, please PM me with a link to their account(s). Those users do seems to be writing essays for their users names across every project they are participating in. PMing list from Milkyway@home At least they are all on the same team for each project. So it does making filtering them quicker. Perhaps I can find a way to use AdBlock Plus to filter out their user names from being displayed, or maybe filtered user names could be replaced with something like [filtered user id xxxxxx] Like when someone is banished it displays [banished user id xxxxxx] |

Thanks goodness we have the scrollbars for over-size code blocks now, but why are they visible in that post, when the code isn't big enough to need them? Trouble is, the code box is now a set size. So as big as it is in my post, so big is it always, width wise. Which looks weird when the box is bigger (such as here). It only takes up half my screen. |

Heh... when I do this: Oh that is fun. Looks like it is the placement of the end size. If you size outsize the quotes and have only 1 end within the quotes it executes the size command outside of the message when you preview. If you remove all end size commands it doesn't occur. http://i.imgur.com/SlmThfy.png http://i.imgur.com/QzWPTUj.png<- Also this is how we were able to resize nested quotes, but it doesn't work like that any longer. |

Thanks goodness we have the scrollbars for over-size code blocks now, but why are they visible in that post, when the code isn't big enough to need them? Fixed size text (well, code) boxes in a re-sizeable window? That's just undone about about 20 years of GUI refinement. |

Thanks goodness we have the scrollbars for over-size code blocks now, but why are they visible in that post, when the code isn't big enough to need them? Even on my notebook at 1366x768 it seems narrow. Perhaps using a % instead of a fixed value of 800 would look nicer? I could safely push the width to 1000px. Using 1200px looked OK too, but pushed the user column over a bit. Using 1150px pushes the user column over a bit so it no longer looks to wide to me. At 1225px or more I get a horizontal scroll bar for the page. |

Hmm, now I wonder what the use is of the vertical scroll bar in the code window, if when one scrolls down the vertical scroll bar of the browser is used. Reporting as well. :) Edit: emailed: Additional: Edit2: Aargh, irritating line-height 1.42857143 ! Edit3: I can't override it either with <div style=" line-heigth=1.0rem;">at the start of my post. :( |

I thought I would try out a picture The Sea Cadets Training Ship Jack Petchey leaving Yarmouth Harbour on Monday. Hmm seems a bit small the size on Photobucket is 1024x511 |
