One of my computers is running Linux Mint with the Cinnamon Desktop. Will there be a screensaver for Linux any time soon?

Here's a discussion on screensavers for Ubuntu 14.04 LTS (none): http://discourse.ubuntu.com/t/ubuntu-14-04-screensaver/1637/13

Some projects have graphics you can activate in the BOINC manager which you can set full screen.

There is already screensaver for Linux. In Debian/Ubuntu it is packaged since version 7.6.6.

Cinnamon is supposed to be able to use xscreensaver based screensaver. The screensaver package may still need some additional setting up before it can be used. See this post for how it was done on Ubuntu 12.04.

The old problem still remains, not many projects provide a graphics app that works with the screensaver.

Some projects that can show graphics for some or all tasks in linux are SETI at home and Climateprediction.net . The climateprediction graphics and interactive visualizer is the most impressive looking I've seen.

I've never linked any seti graphics to a screensaver in linux though.
