as the title says: How do I learn about new projects? is there a way to be notified or read about it?

There are various ways.

1. reading forums and watching the stats sites
2. Watch WUProp for new apps showing up in the results page
3. become close to admins at stats sites as they are sometimes made aware of projects before others catch wind.
4. periodically work some GOOGLE-Fu to come across a hidden gem
