Hi, I have a headless Ubuntu box running BOINC Client 7.2.42. Could anybody show me how to configure resource share settings via command line? (e.g. I don't want the client to use 100% of CPU time) Thanks. |

Think you can't. It's a setting that is input at/in each project's web location profile. In effect, a share number applies to all hosts attached to the same project account... you can't have a different value per-host. Coelum Non Animum Mutant, Qui Trans Mare Currunt |

"I don't want the client to use 100% of CPU time" isn't actually a Resource Share question - it's in the Global Preferences set. You can set that through the website of any one of the projects the machine is attached to (and you have a choice of four 'venues' - default, home, school, work - if you don't want it to apply to all your computers). Or you can set local preferences just for that machine using a global_prefs_override.xml file - the current documentation describes doing this from the Manager GUI, but you could create the file in a text editor instead. Not directly from boinccmd, though. |

Thank you. I got it. Although this may not be a usual case, but it would be great if there were more documentation on setting up via command line. |
