I am posting this here because I cannot access any Einstein information: Need to change my computing preferences and therefore login to my account. However, it does not recognize my credentials. "Forgot Password" email link does not work, only redirects back to login windows. Login with "authenticator" derived from Einstein account info XML stored on my PC also only redirects to the login window. That is, no way to login to my account. Any help anyone? |

It may be a bigger problem. When I try to change my password, or email, I too get asked to "log in", even though I'm ALREADY logged in. I first noticed this early this year, when I tried to change the password on QCN. When I looked at this web site, it did the same. I'm not game to try cpdn. I seem to remember that clicking on "change password" lead to a page where one had to enter the current password, and then the new password twice. It's strange that no one else has mentioned this. |

No, it's always been a page on which you have to fill in your new password twice, you never had to fill in your old password. Especially nice if you've forgotten that one. |

OK, that makes sense. But you don't end up at that page, just the Login page. |

At https://einstein.phys.uwm.edu//edit_passwd_form.php I end up on exactly that page. (at stricken CPDN as well, btw) I do know there are some problems with Einstein and I do hope Christian is making a pass by this thread later on. Especially since I don't have any problems logging out and back in at Einstein. Perhaps it's the browser people use? Or a setting in that browser (not store cookies, for instance)? I use Pale Moon 26.1.1 (x64). |

Ahm. Cookies. Yes. One of my security arrangements. (I use Firefox.) I had this site set in Exceptions. But a closer look shows that it's for http, not https And QCN is for the old Stanford site, not the new CalTech. Well, that's my puzzlement sorted out. So tglenew is now a unique case. Thanks Jord. |

Thanks folks, it's the cookies, and FF, of course. Sometimes I'd like to smack myself ... |

Great. We love to give a good smacking, but only within reason. :) |

I'm glad this got resolved on it's own. Another big problem right before the weekend was the least I needed. |
