This just flashed up on my mobile R.I.P one of the best comedy writers this country has produced

Jimmy Perry, creator of one of TV's most popular comedy series, Dad's Army, has died aged 93.

Working with producer David Croft, he was also responsible for It Ain't Half Hot Mum, Hi-de-Hi and You Rang M'Lord?

edit , wonder if they will re run one of their series ? Dad's Army is always on Saturday nights and Hi De Hi is being repeted on BBC 2 in the afternoons at the moment , " Ain't Half Hot Mum " would be good but doubt the P.C brigade would agree there

92 is a good age shame it's hidden by the crap happening elsewhere , "they don't like it up 'em" and "don't panic " won't ever be forgotten :-(

Not wishing to start a ruckus, but Clive died 4 years ago.
Both writers have now gone, and most of the main "characters".
Only Ian Lavender and Frank Williams, the vicar, are left.

I was a bit shocked to see a modern photo of Ian Lavender, but he's getting on too.
