I have a dual P3, OS Vista, BOINC 5.4.9, it is running Einstein beta app 4.42 and Seti Beta 5.17, with a very short connect to network setting. Which usually means I should only have one unit from each project being processed, with the ocasional unit waiting to report or one unit that has just been downloaded as the current one is going to finish soon. But it is not working correctly, the debt calculations are not working. The Einstein is going positive and the Seti is going negative, all the time. To counter this I have to edit the client_state.xml file every few days to put Einstein into negative debt and Seti into positive debt. The machine did not have these problems before Vista was installed, it was previously running Win2000 pro. Has anybody else had similar problems? |

G'day Winterknight It's the length of the wu's that determines the debt calculations, are you crunching short Einsteins? also you have updated to 4.24 which should dramatically cut your process maybe by up to 1/3 - everything else being equal that means you now have to crunch an extra 1/3 of an einstein wu for every seti. So what you are seeing could be easily explained by moving from long to short einsteins and installing the new app. Is this the case? G'day Winterknight Finger trouble when typing original it should have read 4.24 for Einstein. But it happening for long and short units, but it has mainly crunched long units. I even re-installed BOINC 5.4.9 to a completely new folder, but the problem stil presists. It is hostid=662822 on Einstein and hostid=7526 on Seti Beta. Andy |

G'day Andy Your host is only showing long Einsteins, but with the move to 4.24 your crunch time has dropped by about 20,000s from 80k to 60k (in round figures), which would explain why you now have to on average do more Einstein units than before. Leave the debt figures untouched for a week and you will see that BOINC will work on both projects. CIC1=CC=C(C2=N[C@@H](CC(OC(C)(C)C)=O)C3=NN=C(C)N3C4=C2C(C)=C(C)S4)C=C1 |

But it happening for long and short units, but it has mainly crunched long units. It has already tried to process for Einstein only already. Leaving it is not working. Andy |
