While I think of it: After I'd switched on my router yesterday morning, but twenty-five minutes before my BOINC client was due to resume network activity, I reset the CPDN project to clear the debris from the recent batch of download failures. The client immediately reported completed tasks from other projects, requested more, and was granted them — all while network activity was supposedly suspended. The associated uploads and downloads, however, weren't attempted until network activity was resumed. Is this correct behaviour? What would have happened if the router hadn't been on at the time? Suspending network activity can temporarily be overridden by pressing Update, by detaching/attaching a project, by resetting a project. So yes, this is normal. If your router hadn't worked yet, BOINC would've tried to do these things but would just have bounced back because of no internet connection. All communications would then have gone into a back-off. |
