Hello I wanted to ask if there is anyway to pause ongoing projects via a command in linux. I use my computer for Mythtv TV recording and would like to dedicate the computer to projects when it isn't recording TV shows. Afaik Mythtv can run commands when it in use and when its not, so i would think i just need a command to pause and re-enable (I may be wrong, linux isn't my strongest area) Thanks in advance |

The <exclusive_app> and <exclusive_gpu_app> options in the client configuration cc_config.xml file do exactly that, under all operating systems. The function checks which applications are in memory and when one in the list of exclusive ones is in memory, BOINC will suspend computations within 10 seconds. |

MythTV, or it's recording component, may be a service like program, that is, in memory all the time. I use Tvheadend myself to record TV shows and at least that works as a service. davutz, if <exclusive_app> doesn't work with MythTV then you can use boinccmd. |
