So far, train running on time. A lot better than journey up from Cambridge to Dundee.

Yeah didn't see the need for it anymore. Had my birthday, turned 50, told all about it, and none of you here congratulated me.
That hurt.

So, from here on in I will never set foot in The Lounge again, just as I perfectly manage to ignore most forums on Seti - or indeed most project forums. Bye f'ers.

Didn't have an address to send the black roses and balloons.
And your 50th, was better than mine, I got laid off on it and my Father forgot which day it was.

I vaguely remember 50 - When I decided I could admit to being middle aged.

Glory, I just got an 18000 BTU mini split heat pump up and running. Hopefully a major reduction in heating costs and it also is a seldom needed AC.

Grumble: Updated to Ermine and I get a black screen on resuming after suspend.

Internet searching did reveal a fix though I hate filling up my system with more and more tools.

sudo apt-get install laptop-mode-tools
lmt-config-gui

Major grumble, Thursday afternoon a power company bucket truck ripped out my cable and phone lines. I had no TV, internet or phone service. My crunchers ran dry for a few hours until the cable was restored late Friday afternoon. The phone line is scheduled to be fixed Tuesday morning. I do have some minor damage to my house where these things were attached.

Glory:
Having updated to Ermine, my laptop no longer loses its wireless connection to my router after some hours - it was always less than 24. A usb wireless dongle didn't suffer this problem presumably due to a different chipset.

Grumble: LNER need to learn which train is which. Going North, should have been an Intercity125 but was an Azuma meaning, space for my bicycle not where platform staff said it would be and seat bookings all messed up. (Coach my booking was for was in first class, not second which my ticket was for.) On return journey, supposed to be Azuma train but was intercity125 so again seat bookings all messed up.

Also which idiot designed the Azuma trains? If you put the space for bicycles into a normal carriage, when busy people will put luggage into it making it difficult or even impossible to fit bikes in even when they have been booked. (which mine was.) They are as bad as one of the other operators. (A Virgin train is one that doesn't go all the way.)

It is alleged that there is a fleet mod coming very soon to sort out the poor luggage and bike stowage on the 'zooomers

Have asked my cousin if she knows the truth of rumour. (She actually works as engineer for Bombardier the opposition but may have heard something.)

Glory, I just received my first full month's power bill since I installed a mini split heat pump mid Oct. The electricity usage for the house was 1/2 of last November. This thing will save me hundreds per month in the winter.

Grumble my credit union called me at 8 AM today to enquire about out of an out of state withdrawal made yesterday. It turned out to be fraud using my debit card on an ATM. Luckily I have a $500 daily limit on that sort of transaction. I filed the necessary paperwork on line and I'll be made whole in a couple of days, the debit card was immediately canceled and a new one was issued which I should get towards the end of next week.
What a way to upset my morning coffee hour!

Hope everyone is having a good holiday. :-)
Grumble: If any are around the same generation as me, from a medium to large family, & thinking of starting a family tree, take my advice - think twice!
I started mine back in 97 after losing my mother. Input all the known facts as well as asking members not seen regularly, i.e., in-laws etc. On the main all facts correct, however for whatever reasons, a few provided incorrect facts (fortunately, dates not out by much). Since the GRO put their indexes online, it has become easier but!

I attended 3 family weddings in the 60's - 65,66x2 - so I thought. Turns out they were 64,67, & 68, so much for memory. :-(
The one in 64 has turned up a discrepancy in the GRO index
1st cousin (mother's side) marrying SL, so it is PJJS m SL - & found correct. Did notice this:- same county, same district, same volume, same page, but the line above being 186. shows the marriage as PJJF m SL. The thing here is that the F is PJJS mother's maiden name.
Had to erase marriage details for the 67 wedding, another 1st cousin (dad's side) as we all knew her husband's to be JS. It turns out, if the index is correct it should be WJS, so just need to wait until that gets confirmed by a relative.

Glory: GRO indexes online & now a digital PDF is available thereby saving a few ££££.
Mormon (LDS) knocks spots off the GRO.
Had 227 in tree with a total of 103 without a known Christian name or surname, now down to 7 no known Christian name & 17 Doe's
Family members in Ireland/Canada & Australia also greatly helped - at a price - I have to send them a copy of the gedcom file. Well worth IMV.

Don't know how to classify this,
as a grumble, or a glory.
I just farted a hole in my pants.
Feels a lot better! 😬

Grumble: Not long after Seti goes down, I go down. :-(
Total loss of balance, dizzy as hell. Couple of minutes later, go to kitchen to make a cuppa, end up upchucking, then the chest & arm pains hit.
Missus calls ambulance. 40 minutes later, much better. Sheesh, the time she spent on the phone answering irrelevant questions. :-(

Glory: paramedics, gave me a copy of my ecg - normal. :-)
