My internet provider is increasing the speeds again, I'll be returning to 250Mbit down, 25Mbit up in April. The speeds I used to pay 30 euro a month more for than I do now. đź‘Ť |

Big grumble, no glory. Very disappointed to report that MPs call for end to Keighley snooker clubs' men-only rules comes from my patch. As the old saying goes, "You can always tell a Yorkshireman, but you can't tell him much." At least the local MP seems to be on the ball. |

Interestingly, Chess has separate women's competitions though no male only ones. https://www.chess.com/forum/view/general/menswomens-chess--why |

GPS users beware: "The legacy GPS navigation message has a ten (10) bit parameter that represents Week Number (WN). Thus, the WN parameter in the GPS navigation message “rolls over” to zero every 1024weeks starting from 0000Z January 6, 1980. The next WN rollover will occur April 6, 2019." From the Homeland Security of the US Govt (PDF). So watch out when you drive this weekend, you could end up elsewhere than you expected. ;-) |

It caught out the local weather bureau: Y2K of GPS causes glitch grounding Bureau of Meteorology weather balloons A GPS clock rollover that experts predicted would have little impact because of years of advance notice has caused the grounding of the Bureau of Meteorology's (BOM) weather balloons. |

Y2K of GPS causes glitch grounding Bureau of Meteorology weather balloons I wonder how long it will be before someone uses this as an excuse. https://www.cambridge-news.co.uk/news/local-news/car-trapped-guided-busway-histon-15515673 |

Glory this time: Upgrade to Dingo went according to plan and seemed quicker than previous version upgrades. Will play with it for about a week before doing second machine. |

And now a grumble! New battery ordered for Fairphone2 as old one not holding charge as well as it once did. Card through door alleging attempted delivery at 09:15. I was in Kitchen at the time. Don't they teach their drivers how to ring doorbells? I would even have heard it down the garden if they had. |

And now a grumble! Quote from my postman, "We are told to knock, as doorbells frequently don't work", I replied, "If you don't ring the bell, then he should expect to receive a bill for my time and expenses" especially when it was on "Tracked 24 Hr" and the PO had sent me 2 emails to say "delivery today" and "Parcel out for delivery" |

Second attempted delivery failed. Ignored my having given a place to leave battery and ticked the signature not needed box. Wasn't in on this occasion as 70 miles away due to ill Father in Law who passed away aged 93 yesterday morning and didn't get enough time to change it before leaving. Trying again tomorrow morning! As an aside, a week ago when we knew he was dying, he informed us that he was going for a career change and was going to train as a helicopter pilot! |

Wot?? To make sure the Old Boy has actually passed on. Or do you mean the man with the battery is going to try again |

. . Another early start to the outage, this always portends a longer than average outage time :( Stephen <shrug> |

Don't they teach their drivers how to ring doorbells? I would even have heard it down the garden if they had. Tomorrow morning will put sign on door asking them to ring doorbell when I get up. I presume when the tracking link says, "In transit" it is referring to the van it is in? |

...that explains it all - they don't have any Transits only Sprinters |

It means some idiot scanned it and hopefully he threw it on the sprinter so they can transit it too you and do a drive by where the driver shoots an arrow with a sticky door tag saying, killjoy was here and pulls the string and drags the arrow back as he speeds away. |

Liar Liar Bailiff's pants on fire. Told the entire jury panel for Department 74, case settled we are excused, turn in you badges upstairs in Jury room. Jury room says, you have all been put back in the system, have a seat and wait to be called. Hour later, last court is proceeding without a jury, you are excused as soon as I take roll. That hour later, traffic is now in full rush hour rage! GRRRRRRRRRRR! Glory, didn't have to tell the judge why he didn't want me and how he would have to modify court hours to make my employer comply with tax law. |

Glory. New battery seems to last about 25% longer which is not bad for an extra 20mAh 2440 as opposed to 2420 and if the old one holds it's charge when not in phone I can carry that around and swap when out and no access to charger. A bit smaller to carry than the battery that gives me three and a bit charges when full. |
