I've been using BOINC/BOINC Manager for over a year, and I have "On multiprocessor systems, use at most 100.00% of the processors" in the settings. Processor use looked slightly low today (less than 90%), so I checked the running tasks, and there were 28 running instead of 32 (sometimes 33 with a GPUGRID task running). I just checked again and there are currently 29 tasks running. I can't find any reason, and would prefer 100% of the processors to be used. Any ideas? |

It ran like that for a few hours, but now it seems to be running properly again. This thread might as well be closed. |

What about the possibility of memory limitations? Sometimes projects send out work units that need unusually large amounts or RAM, and that can limit the maximum number of work units that can run at the same time. You may have enough processors to run 32 WU's, but not enough memory to deal with that many. |

Thanks @tanstaafl9999 - I suspected that that was the reason, and then your comment made it seem even more likely. Yes I'm stuck with 32GB at the moment, so I'll get some more. |

Thanks @tanstaafl9999 - I suspected that that was the reason, and then your comment made it seem even more likely. When you find less tasks being run, increase the following preferences and see if more tasks are started: When computer is in use, use at most 80% Claggy |
