When you have top running press 'h' for help. From there you'll find I set it to 60 seconds. Now it shows values from 17 to 20 point something... |

How much other programs were using CPU at that time? |

Not much, almost not at all, I did it again, boincmgr takes the second place with 2.6%. |

Does this 40 vs 20% happen on both Rosetta and POEM tasks? You say that with 60% you actually get 60% CPU usage. Could you try other values too? Any chance some other Linux & 7.2.42 user could try this? I can't do it myself right now. |

Yes, it happens with both projects. When I set it to 60% I get about 56% usage. For 50% it was somewhere in the middle, I can check it again and try other values tomorrow. |

Values of the setting are in the first column, on the right there are values top reported over 60 seconds, I did it twice for 30% and 70%. 20 21.1 30 12.7 11.1 40 19.4 50 46.8 60 58.4 70 66.7 63.6 The setting value changes correctly in /etc/boinc-client/global_prefs_override.xml. BTW for 20% elapsed time is running slowly too even tough CPU usage is correct. 10 seconds for 51 actual seconds. |

May be the explanation where seeing on Linux sometimes 100% efficiency... The Elapsed time value smaller than the CPU time value. Coelum Non Animum Mutant, Qui Trans Mare Currunt |
