Collatz Conjecture: update from the administrator

"I'm having trouble with the DDNS and had to switch back to the static DNS so it may take a few hours to trickle through. Exit and restart BOINC may also help as it has a tendancy to cache the DNS entries. "

Scheduled Maintenance: Tuesday 2019-06-11 (in addition to the weekly SETI@home tuesday outage)

Start: 2019-06-11 04:00:00 PDT
End: 2019-06-11 07:00:00 PDT
Severity: Minor Performance Issue
Status: Planning

IST network will be replacing the hardware for one of the campus core routers.

The other core router will continue to carry traffic during the maintenance and no service interruption is expected.

-----

Start: 2019-06-11 05:30:00 PDT
End: 2019-06-11 06:30:00 PDT
Severity: Major Performance Issue
Status: Planning

One of the two DHCP servers providing network address assignments to the UC Berkeley campus will be physically moved to a new rack and network location.

During the time the DHCP server is offline network assignments may be delayed for some customers (less than a minute) due to the the way redundancy works with the DHCP protocol.

World Community Grid has been down since about 09:00 UTC. I have many uploads stuck on several machines.
It seems to be unplanned.

EDIT: Now they are going again.

Universe is down. I have several hours of stuck uploads, and the website is unreachable.

Apparently Universe is a DNS problem. Google DNS won't resolve it, but going to "148.81.25.80" does work.

I had issues too with Universe. It was up and down for me going by event logs. Using a VPN worked for me.

WCG/OpenZika - Likely pause in work available
Projected pause: July 1 - 7
Actual pause: 6 - "13''

https://www.worldcommunitygrid.org/forums/wcg/viewthread_thread,41703

We will likely have a break in work available for this project starting in about a week when existing work runs out. The break is expected to be short based on estimates from the researchers (current estimates are a break of less than a week).

OpenZika Nears End of Work on World Community Grid https://www.worldcommunitygrid.org/about_us/viewNewsArticle.do?articleId=598

Right now, there is a pause in work units while our developers and the researchers build approximately 20,000 new batches. Once those are launched (in 1-2 weeks), they will be the final work units for the project.

We don't know how exactly how long it will take for volunteers to process these work units--our rough estimate is that the final work will be done in late September or early October.

Thank you to everyone who has supported this project! The Zika virus may not be front-page news anymore in much of the world, but it's still a threat. Your support has been very important.

Did not see any prior notice/warning on project web site before it went down. Domain and IP address are unreachable. Will have to just wait and see for it to reappear.

Project is shut down for lack of funds.

BOINC@DHE news:
DHE suspended
Hello everyone,

Unfortunately we are having to suspend DHE until we secure funding. A big thanks to all of you who crunched for our project, the BOINC team, and a special thanks to those who volunteered with us in many ways.

All the best,
Michael

And all this for DHE is confusing as the project is still releasing WU's and uploading with all server processes running.

The only thing not running is the Credit stream and Credit exports

GPUGrid.net is back up, but I needed to retry a lot of backed-off comms.

Hi All,

The CPDN project will be going offline today from 16:30 (UK time) onwards this is to perform project maintainence. This downtime is expected to last until Thursday (14th November). If the work is completed prior to this day the project will be restored ahead of schedule.

Best regards,
