Both iThena projects have been off line / unreachable for around 5 days. Usually it's off line for several hours when things get wonky and there's nothing posted on their Twitter page either. Boincstats confirms this: Last update user XML 2023-06-19 09:17:03 UTC (2 days 06:17:54 old) |

DENIS@home website is semi-accessable but slow to load. BUT get error message "Can't connect to database". Forums not accessable either. Last weekend and at least one earlier this week the project encountered out of storage space problems. Probably happened again. |

I see that both iThena projects are back online. As to be expected, no mention on project forums as to why the extended outage and I won't hold my breath waiting either. |

Can we PLEASE get Cosmology@Home banned from the Project List page as they REFUSE to help new and old users alike... They are giving the entire BOINC universe a bad name over lazy administrative actions and ego! They haven't replied to any emails, forum posts, etc in well over a year... Time to flush them until they get their ship course corrected! ---Update--- I emailed the university to get eyes on this. Any alums here should ALSO email them your distaste for their neglect of this project! |

REMOVE Cosmology@home from approved/ current BOINC list. * It has been over 2 years and counting since any project scientist / administrator has been active in the project forums. * Project website completely failed ALL SECURITY TESTS: https://www.ssllabs.com/ssltest/analyze.html?d=www.cosmologyathome.org I could post more reasons but these two alone should suffice for removing the project. |

Got an email from the university for Cosmology@Home… “ We have been getting emails since January regarding this website. I asked the Department of Astronomy faculty about it and was told that we don't run this website. I realize that the U of I Astronomy is listed on the bottom of the page, which is where the confusion is coming from. I also saw that Marius Millea is someone to contact about the website. He is at the Berkeley Center for Cosmological Physics. I have pasted his contact information below. mariusmillea@gmail.com Sincerely, Rebecca Bare Department of Astronomy University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign: on the ancestral lands of Peoria, Kaskaskia, Piankashaw, Wea, Miami, Mascoutin, Odawa, Sauk, Mesquaki, Kickapoo, Potawatomi, Ojibwe, and Chickasaw Nations 103 Astronomy Building 1002 W. I looked up "Berkeley Center for Cosmological Physics". Found 2 websites for that department > https://physics.berkeley.edu/people/faculty/saul-perlmutter -- and -- https://vcresearch.berkeley.edu/research-unit/berkeley-center-cosmological-physics Apparently Saul Perlmutter is responsible for that department. His contact / email information is on the first link above. Maybe you could try contacting him to see if he or someone else could provide a contact for person(s) responsible for maintaining the BOINC Cosmology project? |

WuProp has gone offline again in as many days.... I'm guessing it won't be back online for another 4 to 4.5 hours based on all the recent outage's. This was at least a monthly reoccurring issue since early January this year (2023); then it started weekly about 2 months ago; now it's almost daily the past 2 to 3 weeks. What ever is going on at the project, the owner/ administrator Sebastian is not replying to request in his project forums for answers. |

This episode of "Better Call Saul" was no good... Dead end. Can BOINC just purge Cosmology@Home until they get their act together since it lacks ANY and ALL accounting at the moment?! |

No BOINC can not Purge Cosmology they are what they are. All that can be done is to try to educate crunching volunteers to use their system power on more worthwhile projects. Bill F |

They can delist them from the Projects page... Been done before, should be done again here. Especially important as they have a wide open site right now with no updated SSL, so users beware. |
