Hi All, Just to let you all know that there will be a period of downtime for the CPDN services tomorrow (Monday 28th June) and on Tuesday (29th June). On Monday, the downtime will start at 2pm (UK time) and end at 4pm (UK time). On Tuesday the CPDN services are expected to be disrupted for the majority of the working day, this disruption will start at 9:30am (UK time). Both downtimes have been requested by the Engineering Department IT Support, in order for them to conduct work on network switches and firewalls. We apologies for any inconvenience. Best regards, Andy Bowery |

And it seems like Wednesday is the new Tuesday. Got two new tasks allocated, but: 30/06/2021 16:11:36 | climateprediction.net | Started download of ic_N144_200309_000045.nc.gz 30/06/2021 16:11:36 | climateprediction.net | [http] [ID#24101] Info: Trying 129.67.193.131:80... 30/06/2021 16:11:36 | climateprediction.net | [http] [ID#24101] Info: TCP_NODELAY set 30/06/2021 16:13:37 | climateprediction.net | [http] [ID#24101] Info: Connection timed out after 120664 milliseconds 30/06/2021 16:13:37 | climateprediction.net | [http] [ID#24101] Info: Closing connection 21319 30/06/2021 16:13:37 | climateprediction.net | [http] HTTP error: Timeout was reached 30/06/2021 16:13:37 | climateprediction.net | Temporarily failed download of ic_N144_200309_000045.nc.gz: transient HTTP errorCouldn't connect to cpdn.org, either - but that's come back up. I'll retry the downloads. Edit: Something fishy here. I had nine files failing to download, each with their own two minute timeout (default for Linux). When I retried a single download (all individual file delays had cleared by then), four files disappeared from the list without appearing in the event log, and the other five went through the two-minute timeout routine. Both tasks - one N144, one N216 - are marked as download failures. |

Strange. I am running my work down to reboot after kernel upgrade so haven't requested any new work meaning I haven't had a chance to see if issue is unversal. |

It may be time dependant. My other Linux box got some around 08:30 UTC this morning, and one of those is running now. I'll try and see if the failing one can get more work before the current task finishes. They both need a reboot, too, but it's hard to get all the tasks synchronised to finish together when both types are being send out, |

They both need a reboot, too, but it's hard to get all the tasks synchronised to finish together when both types are being send out, I get that and even more fun when a batch gets split up by running some testing branch work. Things were quite in sync here till the last batch from testing. |

The retry got allocated three tasks: two downloaded OK, but the third failed. I've posted a request for a sanity check on the project message board - looks like wingmates have been having problems too. |

Kryptos@home web site has been unreachable for several days now. Trying to Ping ip address or domain name times out as unreachable. |

Don't really expect any change till Monday. Uploads are going through without issues. |

Kryptos@home web site has been unreachable for about 21 days now. Can't ping server IP address. Guess if it is unreachable at end of month it will be time to remove it from my PC's. Anyone have any clue what happened? |

The CPDN services are expected to be disrupted for the majority of the working day. And it seems the working day in Oxford still hasn't finished. Forums and server status not accessible and project servers may be down message in event log. |

The CPDN services are expected to be disrupted for the majority of the working day. As the data from all tasks currently running go to universities carrying out the research around the globe, uploads from these tasks are going through. Reporting of tasks and getting new ones however is not happening yet. I will ask Andy if the work is still going on or it is just he needs to restart some things. |
