I'm running 7.4.42 (x64) on Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit. This is currently happening on Climateprediction.net, Einstein@home, and Primegrid. The elapsed time is not increasing even though it is running. I've checked the task properties and it says that the cpu time is 4:59:15, but the elapsed time is 50:15 (for example from Einstein@home task [Gravitational Wave search] using only 1 cpu core. I'm running 7 other tasks on an 8 core processor)

I'm just wondering what could the cause be and if this is known. As the last thing I think I've seen from searches was back in 2010 or so.

Thanks

I see similar symptoms in 7.4.23 Debian Linux boinc manager. Task tab list doesn't update fully. Sometimes one task, in a list of running tasks, doesn't update its status line; I haven't identified a pattern. Sometimes it's the last running task, sometimes not. Bringing mouse focus back to the window will fully update all tasks ONCE and then the 1-second updates resume for most, but not all, running tasks. If the "progress" of a task causes it to be repositioned in the list then again everything updates ONCE and the partial updates continue. So, obviously, the "progress" is being properly computed behind the scenes; it is apparently just the window display update that is incomplete.

(Hoping to see an x64 Linux 7.4.42 soon...)

Noticed under 7.6.2 [LocutusofBorg ppa] that efficiency was running 100% on some, not all tasks, then comparing elapsed to CPU time, found that tasks showing this had in fact a much greater CPU time as elapsed. Concurrently, had many resets with the 'If this happens... reset project" and reviewing the result pages on project, quite a few that had the 'too many exits'... this when not having this with previous install 7.5.0 [LoB too]. Went back to the standard Ubuntu repository version 7.2.47 and the issues stopped.

64 bit BTW

Mostly running with the GUI service stopped [terminal only].
