Your personal background. |
I'm a 50-something telco network engineer and an active father with four kids. I enjoy racquet sports, bicycling, hiking, sailing, the performing arts, messing with computers, and reading (mainly mysteries, thrillers, fantasy, and science fact/fiction). I crunched SETI@Home for years before the advent of BOINC, but stopped for some reason that I don't remember. I started BOINCing in May of 2008 and actively participate in many projects using 22 CPU cores/threads across a mix of Windows, Linux, Intel, and AMD machines. |
Your opinions about BOINC message boards |
I really like the idea of volunteer grid/distributed computing and am happy to contribute what cycles I can. I hope that what we do genuinely helps the projects advance their respective sciences and leads to practical benefits for all. |
