You do realize that the only reason BOINC exists was SETI@home, then the Project Director decided to open it for others to use.

If SETI@home never existed, there wouldn't have BOINC.

Is there no way that I can actually do this with the client?

Perhaps an alternate manager?

Is there a way to be able to set multiple times for one day?

Like for Sunday - Monday:

Start Sunday at 10:00PM and run to 6:00AM on the Monday. Then on the same Monday, start again on 7:00AM and run to 3:00PM. Then at 9:00PM run until 6:00AM on Tuesday and repeat?

Wouldn't it be running 548,352 Tasks at a time though, each running at 2.0GHz, considering most BOINC projects are Single Core...

Is there a way that I can only show the projects I want for a cross project certificate?

I only want my certificate to show Milkyway@home, World Community Grid, and Rosetta@home...

The project says that it is non-cpu intensive. However, will it take cycles away from my other projects or is it completely not using the CPU?

I have a Mac Mini 2009 Edition laying around that is only hosting a rarely used Vent server.

I am interested on putting BOINC on it, but seeing as it only has a Dual Core Intel Core 2 Duo @ 2.53GHz, I am unsure if it could be useful.

Can someone point me to a project that would run well on the older CPU, and still do enough work for it to be worth doing?

I don't want to join a project, and have it take 3 days to do one workunit.

Anyway, thanks in advance.

For some reason now, Rosetta@home does not seem to download new tasks, but all the others do. I have not done anything to its settings. Will it just wait until one of the projects is offline and then download work again, then when that project is online again stop?

I have 1 Project (Milkyway@Home) that runs on the GPU, and 4 Projects (Rosetta@Home, Einstein@Home, World Community Grid, and WUProp) on my Quad-Core CPU.

Will BOINC automatticly determine which project to run so that all the projects return their work back on time, or is this something that I should have to monitor?

The reason is for during the summer, my computer is only going to be running BOINC for about 8 hours a day, at night, but during the School year, it will be running almost 17 hours a day. From when I go to bed, to when I get back home from school the next day. I want to make sure even if one project goes down, my computer will still have work to do and contribute as much as possible.

I have a couple of questions about BOINC, maybe someone can help.

1. Is there a way to set BOINC to not run the First of every month? It would be helpful for giving the computer time to defrag.

2. Is there a way to assign one project just the CPU, and another project the GPU? Like, let SETI@Home only use my CPU, and MilkyWay@Home use just my GPU?

Thanks!
