WHS2011 - will not use GPU
(Message 47539)
Posted 27 Jan 2013 by Gundolf Jahn Post: The system is headless... Does that imply it running in service (Protected Application Execution) mode? That would prevent GPUs from being recognized by newer BOINC clients. Gruß, Gundolf |

Project Identifiers
(Message 46758)
Posted 13 Dec 2012 by Gundolf Jahn Post: I also noted that both have different cross project identifiers. That's the culprit! From the BOINCstats FAQ: Why do I have duplicate/split accounts in the BOINC combined stats? As for the reason, see also Cross-project identification at the BOINC wiki. Gruß, Gundolf |

Does that change if you ignore the other device? Gruß, Gundolf |

Posted 18 Oct 2012 by Gundolf Jahn Post: There is no cc_config.xml by default. Look for client_state.xml; with windows, the data directory is hidden. The path to the BOINC data directory is also listed in the BOINC event log after a restart. Gruß, Gundolf |

BOINC 7.0.27 manager can't connect to client
(Message 46027)
Posted 17 Oct 2012 by Gundolf Jahn Post: E.g. <start_delay>300</start_delay> will make BOINC wait 5 minutes, or 300 seconds, before it starts running applications. I don't think that's what Richard meant. As I had to be told numerous times by JM7 ;-) the delay has to occur before the BOINC process itself starts running, not the project applications. (Message 45568)
Posted 5 Sep 2012 by Gundolf Jahn Post: In the Projects tab (BOINC manager advanced view), select "No New Tasks" for each of your projects. When back from holyday, select "Allow New Tasks" again. If you are using an older version of BOINC, you'll have to report uploaded tasks by selecting "Update" in the Projects tab. The newest versions do that automatically when in NNT-mode. Gruß, Gundolf |
