Hello ! I need help with this unusual question , i have got 2 PCs , My main computer is fast as hell and crunches for BOINC 24/7 , however , i got the second one at my office , which is reaaaally slow and not useful for projects(Via C3M @ 800mhz) i want this computer to monitorize the client of the fast one

The fast one has enabled the " --allow_remote_gui_rpc " feature , i want to make a short script on the slow one to launch the manager and connect automatically.

Something like this : " boincmgr --host (main computer's IP) --password xxxx

Is it possible ?

Thanks

You may want to read http://boinc.berkeley.edu/wiki/Controlling_BOINC_remotely first.

BOINC Manager does have command line switches, but not the --allow_remote_gui_rpc

Having said that (and agreeing that the first step has to be enabling remote_hosts.cfg or equivalent on the fast host to be monitored, and restarting the BOINC client to pick it up - maybe just reading config files is enough), I've just confirmed that the command line

"C:\Program Files\BOINC\boincmgr.exe" /m /n Fast /p password

(invoked via a Windows shortcut) opens a second instance of the Manager on my slow machine, and displays the activity of the Fast machine, obviously using the default RPC port number. The original Manager instance, monitoring the local BOINC client, is still running.
