Hi everyone, is there a way to stop a project on schedule while keeping the others running? I tried to find a way to do it among the multiple options of the .xml config files but I couldn't. I would like to keep QuakeCatcher tasks running day and night while I would stop the rest of the projects during the day. This is the opposite of what I'm asking, but both things could be done with the exact answer. Thanks |

I'm pretty sure QuakeCatcher is implemented as a 'non-CPU-intensive task' - in which case, a new feature introduced last week will do what you request. <dont_suspend_nci>0|1</dont_suspend_nci> But do note that the feature isn't implemented yet in current versions of BOINC - you will need to wait for the next round of test releases, and your feedback will be useful. |

Use BOINCCMD and a scheduled task to suspend the project(s) and another to resume it(them) Link to doco is here MarkJ |

Additional info on QuakeCatcherNetwork, news arrived yesterday that this project will be dropped from the BOINC add project wizard, because it's on its last legs. It's completely out of funding and running on fumes. Its servers may be turned off any day now. |

Thanks for all the answers, very useful. I don't know how I didn't think about BOINCCMD and an script. I will check the <dont_suspend_nci> option in the cc_config.xml file (http://boinc.berkeley.edu/wiki/client_configuration) when it is available and I will post the results here, as long as QuakeCatcher resists to that point... Thanks, Yacob |
