AMD APU & Boinc issues

On a regular basis, the Radeon GPU will start processing data from Boinc, even though the computer is in active use and I have set up Boinc to start crunching Data when the screen saver starts. Also the GPU won't stop crunching data even when I return and start using the computer. I've had this issue for a while and I have been unable to troubleshoot it. My set-up: Boinc version : 7.4.27 AMD 5400K APU Win 7 SP1 running setiathome Any help to solve this issue would be appreciated. P.S. Event log - http://pastebin.com/kQZeHvbr ID: 59073 ·

noderaser Send message Joined: 2 Jan 14 Posts: 276	Message 59077 - Posted: 30 Dec 2014, 1:18:55 UTC There should be a "resuming computation" line in the log that will give a hint as to why BOINC thinks it should be computing, can you post some of the lines surrounding that? Also, check to make sure that you're not getting another set of preferences from a different project or account manager that override the ones you want, and that you have cleared any local preferences. This is my latest Event log - http://pastebin.com/zwSfA1Uy , although the above problem hasn't occurred so far (since my last reboot). I will post another Event log when my APU issue occurs again. To set debug flags easily these days: Open BOINC Manager -> (View->Advanced View->) Advanced -> Event Log Diagnostic Flags -> check appropriate flags -> OK. The change will be used immediately. Open Event Log (CTRL+SHIFT+E) to see the messages. The Event Log Diagnostic Flags window requires BOINC 7.4 or later. And as said, you can just copy all, or select copy part, or select just one project and see only its messages to copy and post with here. ID: 59183 ·

I think I've worked out the main problem, the Stock Seti ATI/AMD MBv7 app has an already reported (by me) problem where it wasn't suspending during benchmarks, there are two different cases in your Log, One where Boinc is suspending usage because the computer is in use, marked in Dark Blue, I know the ATI/AMD MBv7 app will exit in that case, the other case is where the CPU usage exceeds 10%, in this case the app is supposed to stop compution, But remain in memory, But the app doesn't stop, the app revision where this was fixed was r1843, But the Stock app is still on r1831, I'll remind Raistmer, and see if he'll work towards getting a new Stock app released. Boinc upgraded, computer rebooted, the GPU is still crunching data when the computer is in use and I am unable to manually suspend Boinc. Claggy Current build should have this issue fixed. If OP want to check this going to anonyous platform he can get last stable build to test. Regarding stock: stock update is multi-months operation requiring Berkeley's staff attention. It will be done only when either substantional optimization will be achieved or existed in prev release issues will affect substantional number of users. Meanwhile this particular issue can be included in the list of mandative testings for next release. ID: 59271 ·

Cheers James It's not Boinc that has the issue, but the setiathome_7.03_windows_intelx86__opencl_*_sah.exe apps, You can grab the 0.43a Lunatics Installer, and install the apps from that (a lot of the Stock apps are repackaged Lunatics apps, But of an older revision), It has a lot later revision of GPU apps with a couple of different api fixes, as well as faster CPU apps: Optimised Applications and Other Binaries - latest: Windows Installer v0.43 and v0.43a Claggy ID: 59277 ·
