Message 59020 - Posted: 27 Dec 2014, 10:34:19 UTC

I have BOINC running with 1 project, the malariacontrol.net

Now i want to add 'World community grid'
Under tools, i click 'Add project'
It finished with the error given in the subject.....

I used 'Username', and 'Password' which also work here:
https://secure.worldcommunitygrid.org/

Any ideas on how to add this project?

I've seen a workaround using BoincCmd, Once I find it I'll post it, Or you can upgrade to Boinc 7.4.36

mini:Resources luuk$ cd /Applications/BOINCManager.app/Contents/Resources
mini:Resources luuk$ ./boinc --attach_project http://www.worldcommunitygrid.org 132d17......................
27-Dec-2014 22:17:07 [---] cc_config.xml not found - using defaults
File ownership or permissions are set in a way that
does not allow sandboxed execution of BOINC applications.
To use BOINC anyway, use the -insecure command line option.
To change ownership/permission, reinstall BOINC or run
the shell script Mac_SA_Secure.sh. (Error code -1022)

i forgot to say that i'm on a Mac (Yosemite)

But above is almost like a foreign language to /me.... ;-)

Why did they make it this complex?

The install i have is 'BOINC Manager 7.4.26', which was installed less than a month ago...

Running things 'sandboxed' with options like '-insecure' is not the way to go for me....

Either get BOINC 7.4.36 from post 58623 in the Change Log thread, or use the BOINCCMD tool (the wiki is a bit slow today).

boinccmd --project_attach http://www.worldcommunitygrid.org [your account key]

You can find your account key on My Profile at WCG. Scroll down a tad. If the computer is on a public network, use the weak account key.

even with the weak account key i get this response:
28-Dec-2014 18:08:07 [---] cc_config.xml not found - using defaults
File ownership or permissions are set in a way that
does not allow sandboxed execution of BOINC applications.
To use BOINC anyway, use the -insecure command line option.
To change ownership/permission, reinstall BOINC or run
the shell script Mac_SA_Secure.sh. (Error code -1022)

1) i cannot find the script 'Mac_SA_Secure.sh'
2) i did run the command as 'root' on my Mac
3) adding '--insecure' to the command does not change anything

any more options?

http://boinc.berkeley.edu/dl/Make_BOINC_Service.sh
(For future reference, taken from http://boinc.berkeley.edu/wiki/Tools_for_Mac_OS_X)

You are running the boinccmd command from the data directory, default at Library/Application Support/BOINC Data/ ?

ok

mini:BOINC Data luuk$ pwd
/Library/Application Support/BOINC Data
mini:BOINC Data luuk$ /Applications/BOINCManager.app/Contents/Resources/boinc --attach_project http://www.worldcommunitygrid.org <Weak Account Key>

<Weak Account Key> comes from: https://secure.worldcommunitygrid.org/ms/viewMyProfile.do

I now have twe projects, but the column 'Resource share' shows two different values..
After 'World Community Grid' it shows '50 (33.33%)', and
after 'marariacontrol.net' it shows '100 (66.67%)'.

It would be nice if there is an easy option to change this.

You change the resource share or project weight in the project preferences at the various projects their web sites.
In the case of WCG, this is project weight at https://secure.worldcommunitygrid.org/ms/device/viewBoincProfileConfiguration.do?name=Default
In the case of Malaria this is resource share at http://www.malariacontrol.net/prefs.php?subset=project
