I installed Raspbian raspberry on my systems and the boinc version installed using apt-get install is 7.0.27. Any chance of getting a current version for raspberry pi raspbian?

7.0.27 is the current version on Raspberry. A BOINC version 7.0.27 built especially for the Pi is only available through the repository of Raspbian.

If you feel you need a newer version, you can always request it at http://burdeview.blogspot.nl/p/raspberry-pi-boinc-project-ive-created.html, or if you have the knowledge on how to, build a newer BOINC yourself.

If you run the Jessie release the repo has 7.4.23, which was the last version they got in before the release freeze at the beginning of November.

Debian Jessie should be considered "beta test" until its official release (some time early 2015), although I have been running it for months on 6 Pi's.
