Boinc creating files in home directory - Ubuntu

Boinc keeps on creating and leaving files in my home directory. Some of the files are: *gui_rpc_auth.cfg *client_state.xml *get_project_config.xml And many more. It also has a projects and slots directory in my home directory. All these files and directories are duplicated under the boinc home directory /var/lib/boinc-client. How can I fix this?
