Can I run boinc on a multi-CPU Linux computer?

For example if I have a computer with 2 CPUs both with 4 cores, does it mean I can ran 8 tasks at the same time?

Any advice on how to set this up would be great!

Thanks :)

Yes, it should run out of the box with no special setting up - exactly the same as any single-CPU installation.
