Hi all

With the latest release (2014-01-31, 7.2.39) the Boinc client on my Android phone no longer suspends calculation when the phone is *not* connected to the charger.
Before the above release this functionality worked without problems. I did not find out how to change the behaviour back to the old way.

Can anybody help me?

Regards
Mischa

Go into the 'Power sources for computation' pop up box on the preferences tab, and untick 'Battery', then save.

Hi Claggy

Thanks for your answer. Unfortunately this does not help me because there is no such checkbox in the preferences tab - no matter if advanced settings are shown or not. I think there used to be such a checkbox in the previous release. But it's no longer there :-(
BTW my phone (a Google Galaxy Nexus running Android 4.2.1) has a system default language of German and therefore the Boinc gui also appears in German.
Is it possible that the non-english language support removes this checkbox from the user interface? I found another user's comment in Google's play store that he has the same issue since the latest release: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=edu.berkeley.boinc&reviewId=Z3A6QU9xcFRPSGVXcnA4bzVPMEtiRjIxZmt5WlhmRXRoZ0tST0ZicTFja2s5OVhleDlETDJTcDJtakhIUmxnblZaakJ2emliQUtpQVMtN2hqemlVTWhFNVJV (it's in German though).

@Jord:

I have to translate from German, but here's what I have:

General
- start automatically
- show messages when suspended
- show advanced settings

Network
- transfer only on WiFi
- daily transfer limit (MB)

Processor
- limit number of CPUs used
- limit CPU usage
- suspend when usage higher then ...

Storage
- max. used memory
- min free memory

Debugging
- limit RAM
- GUI protocol level

And that's with "Show advanced settings" checked?
You don't have any Energy section?

1) Yes, advanced settings is checked.
2) No, there's no energy section.

I don't see the same thing on the Dutch translation, so perhaps you're right and it is a problem with the German translation. You best report about it at the Google group: https://groups.google.com/forum/#!forum/boinc-android-testing

See this thread started by Joachim on a similar subject.
