I am currently running boinc v6.10.60 which has the messages tab still enabled. I would like to upgrade boinc to the newest version to take advantage of some of the new features available. However, the disappearance of the messages tab is severely detrimental to monitoring the status of boinc.
It would be awesome if at least a messages tab OPTION was available in a future release of boinc. I have multiple machines contributing time to science research and would like to make the most of it. Thanks.

Messages are still available, they're just in their own window now. Either Advanced->Event log, or press CTRL+SHIFT+E.

The Messages tab does not come back.

If you still feel you can't do without the messages in a tab, try a third party app such as BOINCTasks or BOINCView

Thats easy. Copy boinc.dll and boincmgr.exe from 6.10.60 somewhere in a folder. Install newest version. Dont start that version. Copy both files into BOINC folder. You can now use newest version with 6.10.60 BOINCmgr (message tab included).

But do know that any new features in BOINC Manager are then not available in the old BOINC Manager. New features, such as the exclusive_app option, the reread of app_config.xml done from the menu (you then need to restart the client), etc.

Thats correct but dont need it, the message tab was more important ;)
