Is the XXXXXX a real internet URL, or an IP address?
Are you trying to use this BOINC client on the same server that you run the BOINC server on?

You need to look at your active DNS server, and check that it returning the appropriate IP address to match the URL and server IP address you are trying to use.

how can i do this?

Ask your institution's network management/administration team, or a fellow student on a networking course - depends on your circumstances, you haven't told us anything about that.

what do you want to know?
I am running local server, when i used real URL for attaching the project the boinc log gave me the error of invalid URL,then I used the IP address instead of URL it accepts attaching but gave me mentioned errors.

the other thing is that when I get into the server website with IP address there are no tasks, i mean:
Tasks ready to send 0

but when I get into by URL there are two tasks:
Tasks ready to send 2

and this causes error when I try to attach by IP address:
21-Feb-2013 20:19:01 [hello] Project has no tasks available

Are these information sufficient?
