BOINC Adam, judging by the path listed in the error message. BOINC admin. :) |

SETI Beta is down! 🙀And back. Who's making syntax errors on Thanksgiving? I make my "best" syntax errors after enjoying a hearty meal washed down with good wine.... |

I thought that syntax was rich people not paying they full whack to HMRC? And here I thought it was paying $8 for a $2.50 pack of smokes, or $30 for a $10 bottle of booze ... :| |

Well, interesting. With the now new outage even the SSP cannot be reached. (BTW, for those looking, it's sah_status.html, not server_status.php; while for other BOINC projects the latter is the server status page, it never was for Seti). |

I know at one point in the very distant past it wasn't sah_status.html, perhaps just status.html? IIRC it changed when v.6 work units began to be distributed The state of the project while down now matches the SetiBeta project as that one always went to nothingness when it was down. I guess they don't want us knowing about when things are coming back anymore, or be able to look at all the static web pages with information, like their work e-mail addys. |

I doubt anybody *wanted* that - they (or more likely 'he', I'm not getting the impression this is a collective effort) just didn't think or plan ahead. Ah, "I didn't think". The saddest three words in the English language. |

Uhm, they're back. Quick maintenance or something else? |

Uhm, they're back. Quick maintenance or something else? Maybe it was backing up the old style web pages that took so long.....LOL. Or, more likely.....maybe the new code caused some kind of snafu with the outage. Meow? |

Yes it's back and seems to be functioning. |

Message from Eric: We're cancelling this week's outage because of that.'That' being my report that "With SETI now down for maintenance, both the main page and the server status page show the barest minimum information - much less than before the changes." |

Message from Eric: Thanks for the report, Richard. Meow. |

BTW, that was an 'on the record' statement - the whole Bootstrap CSS adventure is being broadcast to all BOINC developers and projects on the mailing lists - including that exchange, and several requests for help. |

I'm confused by these last replies. I interpreted Richard's reply that Eric is cancelling the outage. However, I get no server responses to report attempts and the standard "project servers may be temporarily down" when the project is in backup outage. But, the SSP is showing everything running and the forums are still available though slow. Confused. |

Chris get over it, I don't care much for it but it is hardly worth having a tizzy over. |

Message from Eric: That would seem to indicate that DA broke the rules for BOINC and did not consult with the users, Eric, and simply imposed his will with a commit. Shouldn't that downgrade him to contributor status and have his root access revoked? ;-) |
