Well, my understanding is that the Boinc server is the same case as the Seti web servers, so a power supply problem takes them all down.

Was it a power supply problem?

That was Eric's best guess last I heard from him.
Did not actually get the final analysis yet.
He was a bit unsure, as the cases supposedly have dual power supplies for redundancy, and both are supposed to have separate mains and UPS backups.....

Just got the autopsy report.
The old webserver has gone kaput.

They brought the webpages back up on a different server.
They think the Boinc server is still OK.

It was a request, not a demand. I even said please, which is not all that common for me. Perhaps I should have included some indication of humor, but I'm not sure what would have been appropriate.
