Hi Mark,

I wish you and the Kitties a very happy New Year, we will see what it brings for all of us.

And the same wishes to you and all of our fellow Setizens.
I'm back to behaving today, so at least I'll see the New Year in on the right note.......

...and open the rigs back up to receiving Seti AP work.

LOL, good luck on that. There's a severe drought.

Yeah, but I am picking up a few more than I was yesterday. Enough to keep most of the rigs at least making the work requests rather than going into bye bye backoff land.

I have one AP and immediately my BOINC is continually telling "SETI@home | Not requesting tasks: don't need (CPU: ; AMD/ATI GPU: job cache full)". Not that I mind that much, over the past days when everyone was panicking I just turned BOINC off. My cache was full and still is. (68 MB, 1 AP)

I've got 1,027 APs in total...but that's spread across 9 rigs, so up to 900 of them could be on the CPUs. Does not leave much for the GPUs to munch on. I think most of them are still doing their GPUGRID thingys.

Well, the kitties have managed to sniff out about 100 additional AP WUs in 2 hours time.
And that's with 9 rigs, each making a work request every 5 minutes.
Of course, I actually got more than 100, as work is being crunched and returned at the same time. But cache building is coming very slowly.
All it shall take is the AP splitters slowing down a bit, or the MB splitting to finish up, and things will turn around the other way very quickly.

Well, one last wish from me and the kitties for all of you.
I hope you all enjoy a 2015 that is better for you than 2014 may have been.
If 2014 was good, may 2015 be even better.

I am out for the evening. Lori and I get together at her sister and brother in-law's place for New Year's eve. Watch a couple of DVD's, snack on all sorts of good eats, and see in the new year.

I'll be back at ya next year then.......

Meowing my best wishes to all my fellow Setizens.
May it be a great on for all of us and the project.

Meow for now.

I had a very good year. I got married, I had a fabulous honeymoon in Vegas, I had another great holiday visiting Angela and Eric in San Francisco (they are wonderful hosts) and then to cap it all I became a Canadian Citizen in December.

I hope everyone has a good year in 2015. I am not sure I can top this year. I think I've peaked.

Well...a rather inauspicious start to the New Year for the Seti servers.
All of the AP channels that were left to split.......
Are being trashed by the splitters and disappearing at a dead run. But not really being split into work to be sent out. Being sent into a black hole somewhere.

The kitties have sent a message to Eric, but even if he is around on New Year's day, it's still rather early in Berkeley and I don't know if he could right things and get that data back into the queue to be resplit or not.

Meowsigh, as the kitties say.
Meowsigh.

Something's afoot....
A couple of channels have magically reappeared and are splitting again.
Might be Eric slaving away on New Year's day.

EDIT...
Whether Eric's at it or the new channels are automagically loading up, the AP splitters are still all totally borked.
3 channels have loaded, and the AP splitters raced through them in minutes, creating no new work in the process.

Oh, crappins....
More new datasets being loaded and all the AP work is still being sent into never never land.

Meowbugger.

EDIT...
Got word back from Matt that he believes these are datasets which have already had the AP work split and sent, but not the MB work.
So the splitters run through them quickly and send no AP outbound because it has already been done.

He may be mistaken. I'll send him a copy of my processing records.

He said he was going to recheck it, but it would not be a bad thing for you to send him your thoughts and records, indeed.
Your hobby of tracking these things may serve another purpose.

And, would it not still be productive to send out AP data that was done under v6 to process again under the v7 app?

Just a note for any Setizens that are Sams Club members....or know somebody that is.................
An incredible bargain on canned air duster spray.
I have not seen a price this low in many years, if ever.
Couple of bucks a can....10oz. Lori has a membership, and I am stocking up big time.

Falcon Dust-Off

Please do forward this to Number Crunching if anybody feels that it is worthwhile.

You might also pass along the best wishes of the kitties and myself to Annie for her quick recovery from her unfortunate kitchen mishap.

Get well soon, Annie.

Meow, meow, and meow.
