Message 57478 - Posted: 9 Nov 2014, 6:41:52 UTC - in response to Message 57472.

Message to Eric and Angela.

Your vendetta is getting really, really old.
Time for a truce?
I think that even most of my evil enemies think that you have been at it long enough.
You are way past your due.
And it's time you got over it.

Please give the kitties some relief now.
It is time.

Oh Mark. There is no vendetta. Every one is just a bit tired of you nonsense. Your wore them out, that's all. There is no vendetta.

Now Einstein is a great project and definitely deserves some time with the kitty computers.

Crunch on.

Thank you for your words of kindness.
I just had a talk with the kitties, and they told me to chill out a bit...LOL.
Kitties are very wise.
I guess I need to listen to them more often.
Bandit nuzzled my nose, Tigger II gave me the evil eye, and Purball did what she does. Purrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr.
My cats have saved my from myself yet again...
And you have helped as well, Es.

I see that Eric has taken yet another stab at damage control.
And played the funding card again.

That makes it sound like you're the one with the vendetta, Mark.

Read more carefully. There's only one mention of funding in his post:

Second, because of funding, Astronomy isn't top dog at Arecibo anymore, so Astronomers get a smaller fraction of the observing time.

SETI@Home has always got its data effectively for free, essentially by watching over the Astonomers' shoulders while they work. Fewer astronomers, less astronomy, less data for SETI to process. Nothing that SETI's finances can do about that.

You are preaching to the goddamned choir, Richard.
Lest you forget, I was in the middle of a fundraiser when things came down upon me.
Nobody more than myself has done more to raise funds for the Seti project, and you damned well best not forget that, please.

EDIT........
As well as contributing some over 2 grand in cash, buddy.

Donations to SETI@home
Number of donations 25
Total amount $2,694.00

You best not get too high and mighty with me.
I know others have contributed more, but for a man of my meager means, that is a crapload of money.

Eric chose to banish me because I had a somewhat heated disagreement with Angela, to which he took affront.
Damn, he could not discuss the point, and get over it???
I may have been in the wrong.........I won't debate that point. I may well have been at the time.
But to go to this extent over it?
Christ, it's time to get over it, Eric.
You and I have had far too much history to go to this endpoint.
If that means so little to you, I REALLY have underestimated your friendship.

I always love you and Angela both, that has not changed for me.

I might say that perhaps some others' opinion of you may have changed a bit because of your actions towards me. Because they do not quite understand it much more than I do.

Mark

I'm off to dinner in a bit. When I return, I expect either to see blood on the inside of the windows of the Cafe, or for everyone here to have made up and joined brotherly at the bar drinking milk. For you all to figure which way to go.

I'll go for the milk....LOL.
I can take a hint.
Hate was never my strong suit, being a kittyman and all.
Besides, I saw enough blood when my brother hit the tracks.
You may keep yours contained within.

I have not yet begun to defile myself, kids.

I thought it was a funny video. Does there have to be a point?

Oh, it lost the title so I guess it wouldn't make sense!

It is called "if your cat was a human"

So kitty, IIRC a w/u is about 110 seconds of telescope time, working that out that is around $40 a work unit, for the telescope time, assuming that it is used 100% of the time. There is down time.

I should take a few moments to thank all here that have stabbed me in the back for all I have done for Seti.
It is truly wonderful how much love you have shared.
There are a few who have stood by me through it all, and for those of you who have, I can only express an incredible amount of love.
Those of you who turned your back on me at the first notice, not so.
Just because I perhaps did deserve it, you did not have to take the first opportunity to stab me in the back as I tried to right myself.
It does not help one seeking a bit of self redemption when little other than spit flies in his face, kids.

Am I bitter? Yes, I am right now. And rather angry and pissed off at all who have chosen to belittle and piss on me.

You shall be remembered.

If you never took notice, kitties get REALLY angry when one hurts them.
And the claws come out. And they attack their predators. Without remorse.

This is the corner some of you have backed me into. Give me a little space, and we can work out of even this bad scene. Keep backing me into that corner, and the claws are only gonna get sharper.

I think this situation is as much your choice as mine.
I have offered to back off.
Could you as well, perhaps?

Most of you that have been around a while know that I am one big neurotic mess.
And yet I get on with it. Day to day.

I survive by being a cat. I AM a cat. I think, breath, and respond like a cat.
I virtually AM a cat. I do not use the litterbox, LOL.
Purball, Bandit, and TiggerII are my soulmates.
I exist for them. When I lost Squirrel, it almost killed me.
I fear for myself when the other 3 begin to go. And they just had their 13th birthday a couple of months ago.
I may really have to seek professional help at that point, and I do realize that possibility.

It would be helpful if I had some friends here at that point.

Mahow. Maaahow. Meow, mahow. Mew.

Hope your barf-breath smells better than that of Wokkel. Not fun when she first pukes the hairball out, then comes lying on my chest purring barf-breath.

With that said, I'm off to bed early. The gas company will be knocking on my door at 7.30am to start their works on the gas mains (till noon they guestimate). Something about coating the inside of the gas pipes with something or the other, and them needing to have access to the whole flat at the same time. All this time all gas is off, so it'll be getting cold in the flat without the central heating on.

But luckily I found that doing Seti on a GPU rises the temperature of the room by 4 degrees Celsius. So I guess both my computers will pump out Seti when it starts to get cold. Gotta use up the electricity my central heating device isn't using during all those hours. ;-)

Night all, and behave yourself.
