Hello All!
I released text mode version of BOINC manager for Linux (boinctui). I was build binary package for Fedora and Ubuntu Linux and source code archive for other Linux. Boinctui does not use BOINC source code, and can be compiled without BOINC.
Boinctui can manage remote BOINC hosts (via boinc rpc protocol) and no need to install BOINC and boinctui on same computer.

Main Features:

    - Fullscreen curses based text user interface
    - Switch between several BOINC clients hosts via hot key
    - View task list (run, queue, suspend e.t.c state)
    - View message list
    - Suspend/Resume/Abort tasks
    - Update/Suspend/Resume/Reset/No New Task/Allow New Task for projects
    - Toggle activity state (Always suspend/Always resume/Run based on preferences)
    - Manage BOINC client on remote hosts via boinc_gui RPC protocol

Looks good. Would it run in terminal [for that would be the non-plus ultra]? Running my Linux box without the Graphical interface loaded... only alt-ctrl-f1/f6 sessions. The screenshot suggests it's still running in a GUI session.

Yes, it work in text terminal without X. I test boinctui in linux text console (ctl-alt-f1), in remote ssh session, and in ssh+screen remote session.

I like it. It's what the BOINCCMD tool should do, in my opinion. I forwarded the thread to the developers. :)

Very nice work indeed!! Love the fact it can hotkey between clients and work over ssh. Mon Dieu, c'est incroyable!!!

Please, please maintain and update this until you die. I will be your eternal slave forever if you do. Yes even in the next life I would still be your slave!

I want it big time but I cannot get it to compile on Debian 6.0.6. The configure script says it cannot locate lcrypto lib. I have installed every crypto related package I can locate but no success. No problem I can switch back to Ubuntu or Fedora to have boinctui, not in love with Debian anyway.

"Windows" -- an American English word, meaning "A real operating system is too hard for me."

@ suleman1971,

Using your boinctui on linux in a terminal window, working nicely, can you tell me what key/key combinations set the function in motion at top, particularly how to get the projects listed for a host, activity and tasks [latter always showing]. Also, when rolling through the hosts added, is there a combination to roll back to a previous host?

Many thanks.

Top panel only for tasks list. You can get project list for current host via "Projects" menu items only.

Current version haven't hot key for switching to previous host. You can use "N" to select proper host.

Argh, now I get it... F9 to select the menu [mistakenly only looked at the drop down File menu when doing F9], then the left right keys to move to the project. Even remembers the last menu used when esc out and hitting F9 again.

For those as slow as me, any option taken on the Projects menu such as Update produces a list of attached projects from which you can pick with which one to take the action.

Many thanks [still enjoying the use very much]
