Hi,

I'm running latest boinc, and I noticed a few days ago that it's only running two tasks simultaneously, where it used to run 3, since I have a 4 core cpu, and as computing option, I have assigned 75% of CPU to Boinc.

Any idea what could be wrong?

Regards,

Depends on where you set the preferences.

First off, go to the project's website, your account, global preferences and tell us what the values are for both:
- On multiprocessors, use XX of the processors.
- On multiprocessors, use ZZ% of the processors.

And what is the value you set in BOINC its local preferences?
BOINC Manager->Advanced view->Tools->Computing preferences->Processors usage/other options.

Or if you can't find these that quickly, post the contents of both the global_prefs.xml and the global_prefs_override.xml files, found in the BOINC Data directory. You can open these with any clear text editor, such as Notepad in Windows.

BOINC Manager->Advanced view->Tools->Computing preferences->Processors usage/other options.

If you open that screen for the first time just to look at the values, do not click the 'OK' button to close the screen - that "locks in" the current settings as a global override for the web settings for evermore (or until you clear them manually).

Click 'cancel' instead.
