I have made a SlackBuild script to compile Boinc on Slackware. It enables X and the gui, but I cannot get the gui working.

I start the gui from a terminal inside xfce:

boincmgr

The gui screen comes up, but I cannot do anything with it, in the terminal I get these messages:

execvp(/home/pulsar/boinc, --redirectio, --launched_by_manager) failed with error 2!

As you can see, the errors are not specific

Inside the Gui, if I select View --> Advanced View

Then click on Tools --> Account Projects or account Manager...

I get this message:

The Boinc client has exited unexpectedly 3 times within the last 2 minutes. Would you like to restart it again?

Do I need to add an rc.boinc script to /etc/rc.d or is there some udev rules I need? I feel I am missing something.

This has been the case on boinc svn versions 7.0.28 to 7.0.31

Below is a link to my Boinc.SlackBuild via github

My Boinc.SlackBuild is complete and running stable. It builds on 13.37 and 14.0 :) I have made a few changes to how it operates so make sure the have a look at the README.

I have added a boinc.desktop file so you can launch the gui straight from your menu launcher.

Gui is working great, cli works great! hope others find it useful!

Happy folding!

If someone can change the topic to 'Boinc.SlackBuild successful' That would be great. Thanks

You're got to post to the thread, not to a reply to an existing post.
