Hi,

I've been wondering if it is possible to make sure that boinc use the 100% cpu resources at lowest possible p-state clocking on my CPU, instead of having the CPU kicking to faster p-state as soon as some resources are in use. I've acheived it by using the EPU-4 engine software that come with my asus board, but what is does is locking the cpu at the 800mhz (I'm using Athlon II 455, 3.3mhz). The problem is that I have to change the software setting manually (from max energy saving to high performance) everytime I want the full CPU resources for other application.

If I use the current Boinc setting to reduce CPU usage it will always stay at highest voltage/p-state and wont reduce as much the computer noise and heat... even if reduced to 25% it still make more noise and heat than having the computer crunch at 800mhz for that same amount of BOINC result.

If such configuration exist it would allow to use boinc without spending a penny on electricity and that would be the real green way to do it....

thanks for your help
