anytime your screen saver kicks in my video gets messed up and need to be reinstalled ... please help with this problem ... I'd like to keep running your programs, but it need fixing

The easiest way to avoid that problem would be not to use the BOINC screensaver, as it steals clock cycles away from the projects' applications anyway. The BOINC screensaver is not needed to contribute to a project.

For a more elaborate answer, you'd have to tell us which projects you run, as the most projects program their own screensavers. So, you'd probably better ask at the project fora for a solution.
