Today I downloaded BOINC in hopes of showing it to a colleague. Rather than the fun graphics of watching things compute, all I got was the "BOINC" logo and a message saying which program I was working in very plain type.

How can I change this?

Which projects have you attached to? Not all projects have screensavers.

All I really want is to run SETI@home but I've also tried the Milkyway program and Einstein.

Make sure computation is allowed when the computer is in use, eithier by setting in your computing preferences the following to no:

Suspend work while computer is in use? no

or by setting in Boinc Manager's Activity Menu 'Run always'
