I install boinc monitor 4.6, the only message I got is:

A semi colon character was expected

Do you know, what I should do?

A semi colon character was expected it mean that in client_state.xml error. Maybe you stop some task or error in calculation. In this case BOINC for some reason don't write right client_state.xml file. For check where error try to open client_state.xml in Internet Explorer. Sorry for inconvenience, but it is not gudget's bug

Answer Dr. David Anderson

the client_state.xml problem is that it contains non-ASCII characters (> 127).
I will change the BOINC client to prevent this.

Wait for changing...

My client_state.xml fortunately did not contain any unexpected characters, the gadget worked correctly out-of-the-box.

I've just customized the projects' definition file a bit and added a few undefined projects.

A nice tool :-)

XML contains illegal character only if "calculation error" error occur or you aborted any WU.
Please post me added projects and I add it to gadget in next update.

Sent per PM (however you'll surely found many more around).

Still regarding the previous version (not yet seen the newer one):
In the task's tooltip, the first "CPU time" - is it a "Checkpoint CPU time"? If so, you might rename it and shift under the "Current CPU time" row.

You might also consider letting the user shorten the progress bar, to get a few more characters available for the project name (as a preference - how much). (I've got a bit more place by lowering the font size from 9 to 8 or 7 - another possible user preference?)

Maybe the Progress% should be displayed consistently with one decimal digit on all lines (now ".0" is not displayed). Maybe yet another user preference for the number of displayed decimal digits? (Usually 0-3 would make sense.)

I've tried both 5.0 and 6.0 on other machine. Looks fine. But the fourth settings page (colors) is "garbled" - no uniform positions for colors and selectors, everything is cluttered ("at sixes and sevens") - chaos pure. Maybe it is caused with custom font size - I have it set to "Custom - 115%" (on Win7).
(Edit: The first page too.)

Yes Pepo. "Garbled" connected with "Custom - 115%"
Try temporary use standard 100% font and tell me what heppend. If this not help I will think. But I hope it help. Thank you for suggestion and help

I guess it should help. On a machine with 100% font size settings both 4.x and 5.0 versions were fine.
However I can not test the font sizes now.

The graphs (when using them just occasionally) would be much more comfortably accessible using the Flyout window - you could consider adding them also there? The credit range values ("points") in graphs' tooltips could be easily rounded - I believe their 6 decimal places makes the readability worse than better...

BTW, the Flyout window, when displaying a project's details, could display also its "short project name" (from the allprojectslist.xml file).

Hey Igogo,
I installed V7 a few hours ago...
It has finished two WUs since then.
And the graph only updates when it completes a WU.
The display of the eight active tasks stays static.
I even set both Boinc and your tool to update every 10 secs.
I am running Windows 7...and ideas?
Thanks KraftR

My gadget get data from client_state.xml
If BOINC update this file my gadget updates too.
For any reason BOINC update data randomly (I don't know how)
For me it is from seconds to hours
OK. I will try Dr. Anderson about it as soon as possible

As for graph - it default update after 3 hrs. See #3 settings page for setup update time. This time - hours only. I think no need do it so often
