why didnt my credit from the old seti At home program transfer to this one.i had almost 5000 hours on it and was told that it would transfer. any help would be nice thanks.

I did a search on the new Seti site for your username but was not able to find your account.
Seti-Classic credit are different than Boinc-Seti and therefore are not merged but displayed as part of your account.

Total credit 13,277.53
Recent average credit 15.46
SETI@home classic workunits 1,038
SETI@home classic CPU time 13,239 hours

If you used your original Classic e-mail address than Boinc-Seti should have link the two accounts together.
You can try linking them using this form

BTW Boinc and Seti are separate projects although very closely associated. You might want to try one of the Boards at Seti for more help.
